Since Oct 12, Google can pull offers from your site into Search and Performance Max ads. Here's how to check what's running and how to turn it off.

Google Ads has started finding discounts on advertisers' websites and attaching them to ads as promotion assets. It is opt-out, it began October 12, and some of the offers it shows may never appear in your reporting.
According to the notice reported by Search Engine Roundtable and PPC Land, Google will automatically identify and extract high-quality promotions from your site and add them to eligible campaigns. Offers it sources are re-checked within 24 hours. The feature currently applies to Search and Performance Max campaigns that have linked location assets and no existing promotion assets, which is exactly the setup many local and multi-location businesses run.
An automated system reading your site can only be as accurate as your site. Think about what could be sitting on your pages right now: an expired seasonal banner, a new-customer-only deal, a coupon that requires a code, or a price that excludes a fee. If Google surfaces an offer you no longer honor, the ad makes a promise you have to keep or explain. There are also margin and legal questions whenever a discount is advertised more broadly than you intended.
Visibility is the second problem. Assets that receive zero impressions do not show up in the Assets section, so an offer that never served cannot be reviewed there. You may not see everything Google has pulled.
Enrollment is automatic. To turn it off, open your account-level automated assets settings, find Automated Promotions, and select Off. The reported setting applies to the whole account, and the notice names no campaign-level control.
Before deciding, do a quick audit:
There is also a middle path. Because the feature applies to campaigns with no promotion assets, adding your own approved promotion assets gives you control over what appears. That is our reading of the reported eligibility rules, so verify it in your account.
It uses the same promotion asset format, but Google chooses the offer and the wording from your site. A manual promotion asset is one you wrote and approved.
Google says it currently applies only to Search and Performance Max campaigns with linked location assets and no existing promotion assets.
If your site changes often or your offers have conditions, turning it off until you have audited the site is the safer default. If your offers are clear and current, it could save you work.
